$5,300 worth of jewelry reported stolen
Jewelry worth $5,300 was reported stolen from a residence in the 8000 block of Alderpoint Terrace N.W., Feb. 22.
Pickerington police said a 48-year-old woman and her 23-year-old daughter told officers at 3:06 p.m. Feb. 22 several pieces of jewelry had been stolen from their residence.
Reports said the women provided police with information about a possible suspect in the theft and officers are continuing their investigation.
* An employee of a business in the 1100 block of Hill Road North told police someone had stolen $60 from her wallet while she was at work Feb. 21.
Reports said the woman told police she got into her wallet and took $20 out for lunch, leaving the remaining $60 in her purse about 6 p.m.
The woman told police when she left work at 9:30 p.m., there was no money in her purse.
She told police that while she was at work, the purse was in a secured employee break room.
* Employees of a business in the 100 block of Postage Drive reported at 7:49 p.m. Feb. 23 a man was seen stealing two pairs of shoes.
Reports said the man left the business before officers arrived and they were unable to locate the suspect.
The business' employees were able to obtain a license plate number on the vehicle and provided the information to police.
Officers were able to locate a photo of the vehicle's registered owner and the store employees confirmed he was the man they witnessed stealing the shoes.
The report will be forwarded to the Fairfield County Prosecutor's Officer for theft charges.
* The owner of a business in the 700 block of Windmiller Drive reported at 11:39 a.m. Feb. 25 his business had been broken into and several items were missing from the office.
Reports said had been sent to the location the previous night after a burglary alarm sounded at 8:05 p.m. but they found the business to be locked and secure.
It appears entry was made by prying open the rear door of the business, according to reports.
* A 22-year-old Reynoldsburg woman was arrested at 9:27 p.m. Feb. 25 on charges of theft, possession of marijuana and an active warrant that had been filed by Columbus police.
Reports said the woman is believed to have stolen items from a business in the 100 block of Postage Drive before fleeing in her vehicle.
Officers stopped the vehicle and that is where they located a plastic bag of what is believed to be marijuana
Reports said the woman was arrested. Several clothing items that were believed to have been stolen were returned to the business.
The woman was later released into the custody of a Columbus police officer. She is to appear in Fairfield County Municipal Court.
