Catching a glimpse of the latest in fashions and eating a delicious lunch while supporting a good cause is what draws attendees to the Violet Township Women's League Annual Style Show and Luncheon.
The show is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 27, in the Berwick Manor Party House, 3250 Refugee Road.
"JC Penney at Eastland Mall is going to be doing our styles," said Donna Brozovich of the Women's League.
Brozovich said the club works really hard to put on the show each year to raise money to help three deserving area high-schoolers defray college expenses.
"This is our biggest fundraiser ever, $6,000 will be handed out that day," Brozovich said.
She said any student that lives in Fairfield County is eligible to win one of three $2,000 college scholarships.
The students are judged on their grades and level of community service.
Brozovich said the 13 models at the style show will be comprised of "eight women and five men" with categories such as "casual, sporty and dressy."
"We have a walkway that goes up and down all the tables so everybody can see it," Brozovich said.
"We have every shape and size."
Raffle tickets for gift baskets can be purchased prior to the show or at the door.
"We have over 150 baskets that we raffle off," Brozovich said.
"That's how we get our money to give to the kids. (Participants) can put their ticket in any basket they want to win," she said.
The women's league prides itself on its unique array of baskets, Brozovich said.
"We have hockey baskets, food baskets, I did a (Pittsburgh) Steeler basket, Sears donated a basket of tools," she said.
"It just depends on what people have donated."
Tickets for the style show and luncheon are $25 and must be purchased from women's league members prior to the show. Tickets are still available.
The women's league is a charitable and social organization formed to bring women from Pickerington, Violet Township and surrounding areas together.
