Library news

Upcoming programs and events at the Pickerington Public Library, 201 Opportunity Way, are included below. Registration is not required unless otherwise noted.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 614-837-4104.

* The Friends of the Pickerington Public Library will hold its spring used book sale April 25-28, at the library. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 26 and 27, and 1 to 3 p.m. April 28, which is a Bag Sale day.

A preview sale for Friends members is set for 5 to 8 p.m. April 24, with memberships available at the door.

Items include books, VHS movies, DVD material, compact discs and audio books. Most books are either $1 or 50 cents.

Donations of books are being accepted.

All proceeds benefit library programs such as the new Homework Help Center, the Patches for Progress youth reading program and other adult and children's programming.

* The library will host Princess/Superhero Parties starting at 1 and 7 p.m. April 30, for ages 3 to 5. Guests are invited to dress as a princess or a favorite superhero and take part in stories and related activities.

Additional events are set for 10 a.m. May 1, for ages 1 1/2 to 3 and 11 a.m. May 1, for ages 3 to 5.

* Game Night at Your Pickerington Public Library events are scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. May 7 and 28.

Participants of all ages can choose from a selection of board games or play on the video game systems. Snacks are included. No registration is necessary.
