The Pickerington Community Pool will be accepting punch passes starting Monday, July 1. Season passes are available as well.

Registration forms can be found online at www.pickerington.net; at the Parks and Recreation Department, 100 Lockville Road; or at the Pool, 11330 Stonecreek Drive S.

New Season Pass holders will receive a photo ID the first day they visit the pool. 2012 Season Pass holders can reactivate their previous photo ID.

Swim Lesson Registration is still open for the second session, July 8-19.

Limited spaces are available so be sure to register before they all fill up.

The only requirements your child must meet for Swim Lessons is they must be 3 years old and potty trained.

Which level they are in is up to their personal skill and abilities.

This year we are adding new special events throughout the season. Mar your calendars for:

• Family Fun Night -- Friday, June 21, 6 to 9 p.m.

 Adult Night -- Friday, July 19, 8 to 10 p.m. (18 years old and older)

 Family Luau Night -- Friday, Aug. 16, 6 to 9 p.m.

 Dog Splash -- Monday, Sept. 2, noon to 5 p.m.

Spring/summer programs

If you are looking for fun camps for your kids, then check out the Parks and Recreation Department's Spring/Summer Program Guide.

We have a number of programs starting soon including Flag Football, Cheerleading, Soccer, music and art camps.

Registration is available online, in person, by mail, drop box at City Hall or by fax.

The Parks and Recreation Department accepts cash, checks made payable to the City of Pickerington and credit card (Visa and MasterCard only).

 

Friday Night Flicks

This Friday, June 21, the Friday Night Flicks presented by Fairfield Federal continues with a showing of The Lorax (PG).

This animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams.

To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

 

Summer concerts

The 2013 Summer Concert Series continues this Sunday, June 23, at the Sycamore Park Amphitheater.

The Floorwalkers will take the stage at 7 p.m.

The six-member band performs an eclectic mix of soul, funk, reggae and folk.

They have been heard in low key places as well as broadening their horizons in tours that included New York City, Atlanta and Dallas.

 

July 4th parade

The July 4th Celebration is scheduled to take place Thursday, July 4, the parade begins at 6 p.m.

The theme for this year is "Only in America."

Line-up will be from 4:30 - 5:00pm.

Facility rentals

The shelters at Sycamore Park and Victory Park are available to be rented for parties, picnics and any other event you might host this summer.

Rental forms are available online, and at the Parks and Recreation Department, 100 Lockville Road.

Reservations are completed by submitting a facility rental form with full payment.

Call the Parks and Recreation Department at 614-833-2211 for more information about renting a shelter.
