Peace Within Counseling Ministry, a new community based counseling service, has begun with a location at Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley Road, Pickerington.

The Rev. Elaine Sturtz is the licensed professional counselor leading this faith-based professional counseling service. Services are available to anyone in the community who has need for counseling related to clinical and mental health issues, grief and bereavement, marriage, pre-marital, family youth, life transitions, change and loss issues.

Sturtz, an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, is a former hospice chaplain, a former youth minister, author and licensed counselor with the state of Ohio Counseling Board.

One of the ministry's programs is a therapy group for parents with children who have addiction issues. Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 7 through Nov. 11, at Peace United Methodist Church. There will not be a meeting on Nov. 4. The group will focus on the therapeutic issues of enabling, trust, boundaries and finding peace.

Cost is $25.
