The Fairfield County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Board will conduct three focus groups in Pickerington to better understand the behavioral needs of this community.
The ADAMH Board is a government-appointed facilitator of local assessment, planning, funding and monitoring of mental health, addiction and recovery services in Fairfield County. Some of the agencies included in the ADAMH Network of Care are: 211/Information and Referral, Fairfield Medical Center, The Fairfield Mental Health Consumer Group, Family, Adult, and Children First Council, Grace Haven Ministries, The Lighthouse, Lutheran Social Services, Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, New Horizons Youth & Family Center and The Recovery Center.
Two focus groups will be held at the Pickerington Library, 201 Opportunity Way: at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 23; and 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. A forum for senior citizens will be held at the Pickerington Senior Center, 1501 Hereford Dr., at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25.
During the discussion, participants will be asked to answer a series of questions. These questions will not be personal but will concentrate on your opinions regarding community needs and the effectiveness with which these needs are being met.
The Board would like to involve as many community members as possible in these focus groups. If you are interested in attending a focus group, call 740-654-0829, ext. 223. Walk-ins on the day of the meeting are also welcome. Participants can expect the focus group to take about an hour.
If you are unable to attend a focus group but would like to provide feedback, visit fairfieldadamh.org to find an electronic version of the community needs assessment survey.
