The Taste of Pickerington event was held Oct. 5 in Olde Pickerington Village and the winners of numerous contests have been announced. The event also included the MarketPlace, and the Mount Carmel Health Fair.

The winners included:

* Most Interactive -- MarketPlace, Rule 3; and Health Fair, Essential Health & Wellness.

* Best Display -- MarketPlace, Pink Zebra; and Health Fair, Allvera.

* Best Overall -- MarketPlace, Moo Moo Car Wash; and Health Fair, Mount Carmel.

* Best Appetizer -- Max & Erma's.

* Best Beverage -- Red Velvet Cafe.

* Most Healthy -- A Taste to Remember Catering.

* Best Entree -- Pompeii's Inferno.

* Best Dessert -- Sweet Persuasions.

* People's Choice Award -- Omezzo Restaurant.

The annual Roosters wing eating contest between the Pickerington High School Central and Pickerington High School North football teams was won by North.

The contest was sponsored by Tide Dry Cleaners.

The annual UNO's pizza eating contest between the Pickerington Police Department and the Violet Township Fire Department was won by Pickerington Police Department. The event was sponsored by Tide Dry Cleaners.

Sponsors of the event organized by the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce included: Mount Carmel, Tide Dry Cleaners, Ohio Health, Primrose School of Pickerington, Sign-A-Rama, Fairfield National Bank, Wesley Ridge, R.G. Barry, Giant Eagle, Sears Hardware, ThisWeek Community News, UNO Chicago Grill and Roosters.

Organizers said 68 local vendors also participated.
