Bunny breakfast

Easter is right around the corner. Be sure to purchase your tickets for the annual Breakfast with the Bunny event on Saturday, April 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Pickerington High School Central Commons.

The Pickerington Food Pantry is once again sponsoring the event with the Parks and Recreation Department.

Enjoy this family friendly event with breakfast, crafts, games and photos with the Easter Bunny.

Tickets are $6 per person (2 years old and younger will be admitted free) and are available at the Parks and Recreation Department.

We are accepting credit cards this year. All proceeds go to the Pickerington Food Pantry.

Arbor Day

Join the city of Pickerington to celebrate Arbor Day at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19 in the Sycamore Park Arboretum.

Pickerington is a Tree City USA award-winner for 21 years and will be presented an award by Ohio Department of Natural Resources representative Lisa Bowers at the event.

Enjoy light refreshments, a flag presentation by the Cub Scouts and meet the winners of the third-grade essay contest.

Pool passes

Thinking you had enough of the cold weather? Pool season is right around the corner.

Early Bird registration is going on now to receive a $15 discount towards your 2014 Pool Season Pass.

Registration Forms are available online at www.pickerington.net or at the Parks and Recreation Department in City Hall. Early Bird Registration will continue through April 30.

Softball leagues

Looking for something fun to do with your friends during the week? Join our Adult Softball League for the summer.

We have a variety of leagues to choose from including Monday Men's Church, Tuesday Co-Rec, Thursday Men's, Friday Co-Rec Diley and Friday Co-Rec Sycamore.

Deadline to join Softball Leagues with payment is April 4. Leagues start the week of May 5 and fees are $375 per team.

Be sure to sign up now as spots are filling up. There will be eight teams per league.

If you don't have a team but are interested in playing, we have a Free Agent list you can be added to for teams to pick up extra players to complete a roster.

Community gardens

Planting season is just around the corner for all the fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers.

There are still plots available to reserve in the Community Gardens.

This is a great place for someone to learn how to grow their first garden, meet new people who share the same interest, or maybe you don't have any space where you live and would like to have a garden.

Plots are 15 feet by 20 feet and 15 feet by 40 feet.

Fees (city resident/non-resident) are $20/$25 for small plots and $40/$50 for large plots.

Stop by the Parks and Recreation Department to complete the Community Garden Reservation Form or download it online at www.pickerington.net.

Shelter reservations

Looking for a place to host a graduation party, family reunion or baby shower?

We have just the right option for you outside in our beautiful parks.

We have four shelters that are available for reservation between April 1 and Oct. 31.

Facility Reservation Forms are available online at www.pickerington.net or at the Parks and Recreation Department.

New times slots and fees are available this year.

If you haven't been by the Disc Golf Course lately, stroll by to see the newest shelter in the process on being built.

The Disc Golf Shelter will be available for reservation later this year.

Just a friendly reminder, parks open April 1.
