* Polly Owen of Pickerington has been selected as one of 100 Alumni Transformers in Nursing & Healthcare by the Ohio State University College of Nursing during its Centennial year.
This recognition commemorates alumni of the college who have deeply impacted the profession of nursing and the healthcare system. Since completing their education at the college, these alumni have excelled in their respective fields and succeeded in living out the mission of the college: transforming health, transforming lives.
Owen is the associate vice president of Academic Affairs at Columbus State Community College where she previously served as a nursing faculty member, Nursing Department chairperson and a division dean. She graduated from Ohio State University with both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in nursing. She also earned a doctorate from OSU in educational policy leadership.
* The Ohio Pharmacists Association announced that Chester (Chet) Kaczor of Pickerington took office as vice president at the OPA's 136th annual conference held this month in Columbus.
Kaczor earned his doctor of pharmacy from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy and received a master of business administration from Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business. He is the manager of ambulatory pharmacy services at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He is a previous recipient of OPA's Student Leadership Award and served as trustee for District 10 from 2010-2014.
