* Three Pickerington residents are among the recent graduates of basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.

They are Air National Guard Airman Nathaniel J. Weaver, Air Force Airman Phillip A. Lee and Air Force Airman Ryan M. Rodoski.

Weaver is the son of Jane and Bruce Weaver. He is a 2009 graduate of Pickerington High School North.

Lee is the son of Jacqueline Lee. He is a 2012 graduate of Pickerington High School Central.

Rodoski, the son of Mary and Greg Rodoski, graduated from Pickerington High School Central in 2013.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

* USMC Sgt. Wayne S. Gallagher, a 2004 Pickerington High School Central graduate, recently led his team to wins in the rifle and pistol class competitions at the USMC Western Region Competition at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Gallagher is a team coach in the Marksmanship Training Unit.
