'Monsters University' kicks off Friday Night Flicks

By

Catching a movie in Pickerington on a Friday night will be a free and easy undertaking with Friday Night Flicks, the city's summer movie series sponsored by Fairfield Federal.

The fact that it's under the stars makes it even more fun, said Pickerington Parks and Recreation Director Becca Medinger.

"Bring a picnic and lawn chair and make yourself comfortable as you relax under the stars at the end of the work week to enjoy a movie," Medinger said.

Friday Night Flicks will be shown every Friday starting June 6 in the Sycamore Park Amphitheater.

Movies will start promptly once dusk envelopes the park.

Admission is free, an added bonus for families on a budget.

"Food options will be available from Violet Baptist Church and Primrose of Pickerington," Medinger said.

Attendees also can bring their own drinks and snacks.

Movies on the agenda this summer include:

• June 6 -- Monsters University (rated G).

• June 13 -- All Dogs Go to Heaven (G).

• June 20 -- Adventures in Zambezia (G).

• June 27 -- The Goonies (PG).

• July 11 -- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (PG).

• July 18 -- Despicable Me 2 (PG).

• Aug. 1 -- The Land Before Time (G).
