The Shamrock Club of Columbus will kick off a new summer outdoor concert series Friday, June 6 with a performance by The Ladies of Longford.
The free concerts will be held on the grounds of the Shamrock Club, 60 W. Castle Road in south Columbus.
The Ladies of Longford are scheduled to perform in the club's shelter house from 7 to 10 p.m. If there is rain or threatening weather, the concerts will be moved indoors to the Shamrock Club's performance hall.
Celebrating more than 12 years of their special brand of Celtic music, the Ladies of Longford serve up a blend of both traditional and contemporary styles.
The members include Hilda Doyle and her two daughters, Stephanie Doyle Gamber and Heather Doyle Fraser, as well as Elizabeth Blickenstaff and Molly Pauken.
Additional concert dates are planned throughout the summer, including:
* Friday, June 27 -- Whinestopper.
* Saturday, July 5 -- Dublin Cornet Band.
