Now that school is out Sunday nights are more relaxing for Pickerington families, especially with the return of the Summer Concert Series, a free family-friendly event sponsored by the city of Pickerington.
This summer marks the 14th year music has played on Sunday nights in the Sycamore Park Amphitheater. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs as well as a willingness to shimmy, shake, boogie and bop to an eclectic mix of bands.
All bands play from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and admission is free, which is music to the ears of families seeking quality entertainment offerings without the hit to the pocketbook.
"It's a great way to end the weekend with great music entertainment before the busy work week begins," Medinger said.
Here is the lineup for the Summer Concert Series:
• June 8 -- Parrots of the Caribbean.
• June 15 -- Red Hot Rhythm Review.
• June 22 -- Wetbandits.

• July 13 -- Floorwalkers.
• July 20 -- Chris Logsdon.
• Aug. 3 -- Paradise Island.
