LANCASTER -- The Pickerington Post 283 baseball team suffered its worst loss of the season July 26, losing 15-2 in seven innings to Napoleon Post 300 in a winners bracket semifinal during the American Legion state tournament.
Post 283 fell to 38-4 overall and will play either Harrison Post 199 or Piqua Post 184 on July 27 at Lancaster High School, with the winner playing Harrison or Piqua later in the day.
Napoleon is 3-0 in the state tournament and was averaging 16.3 runs per game entering its winners' bracket final July 27 against Sandusky Post 83 or Circleville Post 134, which played July 26.
Napoleon, which improved to 44-8 overall entering play July 27, scored in every inning except the first against Pickerington at OU-Lancaster's Beavers Field.
Levi Fisher was 3-for-5 with six RBI, including a grand slam. Thomas Losby was 5-for-5 with two RBI and hit for the cycle, including two doubles. Pitcher Anthony Kidston, who limited Pickerington to five hits, helped himself with a home run, double and four RBI. Gabe Vittorio added a home run and double.
Scott Pancoast hit a solo home run to lead Post 283. Isac Franklin doubled and scored the other run.
