The boys and girls high school cross country teams from both Pickerington Central and Pickerington North advanced to the Division I regional meet Saturday, Oct. 27, at North.

The boys and girls high school cross country teams from both Pickerington Central and Pickerington North advanced to the Division I regional meet Saturday, Oct. 27, at North.

The top four teams and top 16 individuals at regional qualify for the state meet Nov. 3 at National Trail Raceway.

The North boys were the top local team at the district level Oct. 20 at Watkins Memorial. The Panthers placed second (48) in the 13-team district 2 meet behind Westerville North (45) as the top five teams and top 20 individuals advanced.

Brent Pritchard led the way with a third-place finish in 16 minutes, 59.01 seconds, followed by Zach Zimmerman (fifth, 17:07.56), Ryan Kronk (sixth, 17:09.21), Brian Lanier (16th, 17:32.82), Nick Haghiri (18th, 17:36.15), Donald Sisco (22nd, 17:50.07) and Adam Honaker (65th, 19:01.77).

The Central boys placed fifth (152) in district 2. Steven Bauers was the top finisher by placing 21st (17:49.23), followed by Evan Jaynes (23rd, 17:51.17), Robert Hoagland (33rd, 18:11.08), Terry Peppers (35th, 18:11.76), Sean Phillips (40th, 18:17.28), Maaz Shafi (44th, 18:25.28) and Luke Forshey (51st, 18:40.08).

The North girls squad was fourth (106) in the 15-team district 2 meet behind champion Dublin Coffman (31). The top five teams and top 20 individuals advanced to regional.

Kristen Eisenhauer led the Panthers by placing fifth (19:43.85), followed by Kat Lowe (19th, 20:43.87), Fayth Greegor (21st, 20:52.68), Kelsey Waite (24th, 20:57.23), Sinclair Stockard (37th, 21:34.92), Jordan Potts (39th, 21:48.02) and Cortney Palmer (44th, 22:00.81).

The Central girls were fifth (135) behind champion Hilliard Davidson (35) in district 1. The top five teams and top 20 individuals advanced to regional.

Leading the Tigers was Elizabeth Weed (13th, 20:22.8), followed by Madison Cheyunski (17th, 20:37.37), Stephanie Gase (23rd, 21:08.47), Jayla Doggette (36th, 21:33.85), Julia Filby (46th, 22:06.76), Danielle Trunzo (54th, 22:32.74) and Morgan Richardson (77th, 23:22.78).
