The Pickerington High School North girls volleyball team rolled through the first two rounds of the Division I district tournament.

The second-seeded Panthers played 10th-seeded Worthington Kilbourne in a district semifinal Oct. 23, with the winner advancing to play fourth-seeded Olentangy Liberty or eighth-seeded Newark in a district final at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Big Walnut.

North swept Newark in OCC-Ohio Division play, winning 25-18, 25-11, 25-21 on Aug. 28 and 25-23, 25-13, 25-6 on Sept 20. The Panthers, who have not played Liberty this season, were 23-1 before facing Kilbourne and are seeking their third consecutive district title.

The district champion advances to a regional semifinal Nov. 1 at Hilliard Davidson, where it will play Chillicothe, Gahanna, Grove City or Westerville Central.

North cruised past Franklin Heights 25-3, 25-3, 25-6 in the first round of district play Oct. 15 and beat Hilliard Darby 25-15, 25-13, 25-10 in the second round Oct. 17.

The Panthers finished 14-0 in the OCC-Ohio, extending their winning streak in league play to 86 matches.

Pickerington Central lost to Chillicothe 25-17, 25-18, 25-14 in the first round of the district tournament Oct. 16 to finish 7-16 overall.

The Tigers went 3-11 in the OCC-Ohio.
