Central's Walter signs to play football at Miami
Pickerington High School Central senior football player Nick Walter became his school’s second member of the 2013 class to sign a letter of intent to play for a Division I school when he committed to Miami University on Feb. 6.
He joins Taco Charlton, who already has enrolled at Michigan.
Walter saw time at center and tackle on offense, also played on defense and was the team’s long snapper.
With Walter and Charlton among their key players, the Tigers went 7-3 and won at least a share of their seventh consecutive league championship.
Charlton finished with 104 tackles and 15 tackles for losses last season. He started at tight end, defensive lineman and linebacker last season and played in the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl on Jan. 4 in Carson, Calif.
