Pickerington High School North senior Desmond Palmer signed a letter of intent Feb. 6 to compete in track and field for the University of Pittsburgh.

Palmer was second in the Division I state meet last spring in the 300-meter hurdles (37.78 seconds) and ran on the 800 relay that also was second (1:27.64).

Palmer added a sixth-place finish in the 110 hurdles (14.75) and ran on the 1,600 relay that took fifth (3:18.01).
