With one week to go before the city's first July 4 parade since 2006, Reynoldsburg Community Association vice president Mary Hudson said volunteers are still needed for the event.

"We need parade marshals and other people to help with a variety of things, but we just need people to come out and help," Hudson said.

The parade will launch a two-day Fourth of July celebration. The parade will start at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at the corner of Rosehill Road and East Main Street, then proceed east to Haft Drive, onto Davidson Drive and into Huber Park.

The fireworks display is scheduled to start at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday, July 5, in Civic Park, 6800 Daugherty Drive.

The theme this year is "Reynoldsburg Celebrates Freedom."

Hudson said the community association has reached its funding goal for the parade this year but will continue to raise money to make sure they can do it again next year.
