The city will begin its holiday season with the annual tree-lighting ceremony at the Reynoldsburg Municipal Building on Monday, Dec. 1.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Fourth- and fifth-grade students from the Rose Hill Elementary School choir will sing traditional holiday songs.

Mayor Brad McCloud will flip the switch to illuminate thousands of holiday lights in the trees on the Municipal Building grounds.

"We've been doing this for years and every year, we keep adding more lights, so it should be a lot of fun," said Mary Hudson, executive director of the Reynoldsburg Visitors and Community Activities Bureau.

"This really kicks off the holiday season in Reynoldsburg because the following Saturday, on Dec. 6, is Christmas on the Towne in old Reynoldsburg," Hudson added.

Christmas on the Towne runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 in old Reynoldsburg on East Main Street.

The tree-lighting ceremony begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1. The Municipal Building is at 7232 E. Main St.
