Reynoldsburg resident Wendell Tucker was the recipient of a Leadership Award at the 41st annual Defense Logistics Agency Recognition Program ceremony, held Dec. 10 at DLA headquarters in Ft. Belvoir, Va.

Tucker is an inventory management team supervisor in the maritime customer operations office at Defense Supply Center Columbus, which is part of DLA. His office provides demand plans used to procure spare/repair parts and supplies for the U.S. Navy.

Tucker, who has 20 years of federal civilian service, received a Tier 2 Leadership Award for employees who have been a supervisor less than two years. He was among several dozen military and civilian employees throughout DLA who were recognized for their contributions to the agency's mission.

Besides Tucker, DSCC had four other individual winners and a team winner at the awards ceremony.

Tucker is a Columbus native and 1978 graduate of North High School. He retired from the Army Reserve in 2002 after 21 years of service and has a bachelor's degree in logistics management from Park University.
