A portion of Taylor Road will close June 1 while intersection at Taylor and Reynoldsburg-New Albany roads can be rebuilt.

Franklin County Engineer Dean C. Ringle said eastbound traffic will be detoured to Taylor Station Road north to Havens Corners Road and east to Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. Motorists on Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road who want to travel west on Taylor Road will follow the posted detour route in the opposite direction.

"Storm sewer and water line installation has been completed in preparation for the roadway work," Ringle said. "We will close Taylor Road for the construction of a new three-lane pavement and the installation of a new traffic signal and loop detection system."

According to the county engineer's office, Taylor Road is expected to be reopened to traffic when the intersection work is finished in late August.

Funding for the $1.4-million project comes from motor vehicle registration fees and gasoline taxes.
