We would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their invaluable assistance in making the 2009 Reynoldsburg Toys for Kids program a wonderful success. Without their help, we could not have served over 500 children and their families and helped them have a Merry Christmas.
Lt. Mike Shirey, Lt. Chase Bryan and I thank Mayor Brad McCloud; safety-service director Pam Boratyn; Chief David Suciu and the officers and staff of the Reynoldsburg Division of Police; Chief Jerry Foltz and the medics/firefighters and staff of the Truro Township Fire Department; Truro Township trustees; Johnna Kay, Nadine Morse, Diana Hartings, Mary Beth Rodoski, Linda Paugh, Cheryl Kristy, Karen Branscom, Joe Taggart, Jason Ickes, Dean Kohler, Randall Levert, Donna Bauman, Delayne Williams, Tamzen and Howard Wilson, Jim Sayre, Sondra Sherman, Jed and Leslie Hood, Matthew Roth, De Kimble, Luke Haire and Kelly Schultheis, Parkview Presbyterian Church, Pat Massey, John and Patty Hinterschied, Janelle Morrison, Independent Medical Evaluations Inc., CT Consultants, Bob Darragh, the Red Hat Ladies, E.G. and Shirley S. Schick, JC Penney Co. and the many anonymous donors that made this wonderful event possible.
Additionally, on Dec. 5, we had our annual Shop-with-a-Cop at the Meijer Store on East Broad Street.
Meijer Inc. provided a $100 gift card to six lucky kids from Reynoldsburg schools in kindergarten through fourth grades, and an additional $100 gift card to each child's family. Each child enjoyed breakfast and a wonderful morning of shopping and individual special attention from their very own police officer. The kids (and I) had a great time and enjoyed all the special attention.
Heartfelt thanks to Sgt. Cindy McComb, officer Scott Manny, officer Nicole Reynolds, officer Terry McKittrick, reserve officer Robert Campbell and reserve officer Tim Nidiffer.
Special thanks to Chief Dave Suciu, Reynoldsburg Division of Police, for allowing these officers to take time off to participate in this special event. And a very special thanks again to officer Scott Manny for making this great event possible.
