Volunteers are still needed for Reynoldsburg's annual Community Clean-Up Week scheduled for June 4-13.

Organizer Mary Hudson said those interested should register by calling Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation Department director Jason Shamblin at (614) 322-6878.

Hudson said volunteers need to sign up to participate not only in Clean-Up Week but especially for Clean-Up Day on Saturday, June 5. Groups of volunteers will pick up trash around town or be assigned to other tasks, such as weeding or doing repairs for someone.

As in previous years, there will be a communitywide "20-minute makeover" to kick off the week on June 4, during which businesses and schools are encouraged to spend 20 minutes cleaning up the areas outside their buildings.

On Community Clean-Up Day on June 5, the city will offer document shredding and bins to dispose of bulk item and electronics in the parking lot at the municipal building, 7232 E. Main St.

In addition, residents who bring in old and broken red recycling bins, empty or filled, can receive replacement bins.

City residents are allowed to hold a permit-free garage sales during Clean-Up Week without having to pay the normal $1 fee.

Trash will be collected as usual on Thursday, June 10. In addition, residents can leave debris at the curb and Rumpke will pick it up.
