DeBrock named to fill vacancy on Reynoldsburg City Council
The new Reynoldsburg City Council at-large member will be Monica DeBrock, principal architect at DeBrock Architecture in Reynoldsburg.
DeBrock was one of five applicants who applied for the council seat left vacant by Nathan Burd, who accepted the position of city service director on Nov. 26.
Council members also interviewed former Mayor Robert L. McPherson, school board member Ryan Brzezinski and city residents Norman Brusk and Marshall Spalding for the vacancy.
DeBrock will finish Burd’s term in office, which ends in December 2013. She said in her letter of interest that her work as an architect in Reynoldsburg has shown “how important it is for cities, schools, residents and businesses to work together for a better community.”
“We need to continue working creatively to ensure Reynoldsburg’s limited funds are used resourcefully for infrastructure improvements and future capital improvement projects,” she said.
DeBrock has been involved in the Olde Reynoldsburg Strategic Plan, Leadership Reynoldsburg, the Reynoldsburg Design Review Board, and other community and school organizations.
