New urgent care now open in Reynoldsburg
The new OhioHealth Urgent Care in Reynoldsburg hosted an open house Dec. 2 to show off the new facility to the community.
The Columbus Blue Jackets' mascot, Stinger, joined the Columbus Crew Cat and the Columbus Zoo Patriot Eagle in greeting visitors to the new urgent care facility at 2014 Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road (state Route 256).
The urgent care service is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for walk-in medical care. It joins OhioHealth Primary Care Physicians and OhioHealth Laboratory Services at that location, which opened Oct. 1, said Jay Koch, executive director of employer services and urgent care.
"The new OhioHealth Urgent Care in Reynoldsburg helps serve the area by providing additional patient care at extended hours, seven days a week, to meet the demand of busy individuals and families," he said. "The advantage of our urgent care is that we are connected with a health system. If patients have additional health care needs, we can help them navigate to get the proper care as quickly as possible."
Koch said patients who do not have a primary care physician and who come in with health issues could be connected to a primary physician within 24-48 hours for continued care.
"We are always looking at ways to meet the needs of central Ohio communities," he said.
Ethan Finlay, Columbus Crew midfielder, signed autographs and visitors were able to tour the facility while enjoying activities and prizes, said Christina Fitzer, media relations manager.
She said the OhioHealth Primary Care Physicians service is currently accepting new patients of all ages to see board-certified family medicine physicians Dr. Edith Chang and Dr. Kristine Tsai.
Fitzer said Dr. Chang formerly practiced at Grant Family Practice in Whitehall, while Dr. Tsai previously practiced at Bexley Primary Care at Wexner Heritage Village.
To make an appointment with either physician, call 614-533-6440.
Residents who want to use the facility's laboratory services do not need an appointment, she saidm just a physician's order for laboratory tests.
Fitzer said OhioHealth member hospitals include Riverside Methodist Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Doctors Hospital-Columbus, Grady Memorial Hospital, Dublin Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital-Nelsonville, Hardin Memorial Hospital and Marion General Hospital.
