City hoping to hire pros to run concession stands

Reynoldsburg's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for someone with experience to run concession stands in all city parks.

Parks Director Joe Brown said the city is interested in qualified concession stand operators who would enter into a written contract for 2013, for a maximum of three years, contingent on performance.

In a press release announcing a request for proposals, Brown said the city wants "a strong commitment to outstanding customer service" and an organization that will "function inclusively to enhance the efforts of all city entities."

He said the organization should "support and promote trust, communication, teamwork and professionalism" and function as a contributing member of the community team, not just a service-provider.

A pre-proposal facility walk-through will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at John F. Kennedy Park, 7232 E. Main St., and at 3:30 p.m. the same day at the Huber Park Complex, 1520 Davidson Drive.

Another facility walk-through will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Civic Sports Complex, 2800 Daugherty Drive.

"While attendance is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that each organization have a representative tour of the facility and grounds," Brown said. "The purpose of the walk-through is to get an accurate vision of the facility."

He said parks personnel will also answer questions related to the request for proposals.

All interested organizations must register for the walk-through, either by calling Mary Beth Sills at 614-322-6882 or emailing or by sending a fax to 614-322-6880, with registrant, organization name, fax number and phone number.
