Businesses ready to network at expo

Residents may browse through booths manned by more than 35 businesses from Reynoldsburg and the surrounding area at the 2013 Business Expo next month

The Business Expo, coordinated by the Reynoldsburg Area Chamber of Commerce, is set from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Central Ohio Technical College, 8660 E. Broad St.

Chamber Chairwoman Mary Hudson, who also serves as director of the Reynoldsburg Visitors and Community Activities Bureau, said about 35 businesses have signed up so far.

"We still have open spots for more businesses to sign up," she said. "It is a great networking opportunity for our members and an opportunity for the community to see what our businesses are offering."

Greta Stake, executive chairwoman of the chamber, said there are about 10 spots left for businesses.

She said booths are available, but businesses should act fast.

"We'd like to have our registration full by March 1, but as long as there are openings, I will take registrations for booths," Stake said.

Businesses participating in this year's Expo are from Reynoldsburg, Canal Winchester, Pataskala and Pickerington.

"A lot of businesses serve the Reynoldsburg area and we have had a lot of new restaurants open up, so it should be lots of fun," Hudson said.

The chamber will give away four $50 gift certificates to Giant Eagle, and the businesses will offer free samples and other promotional giveaway opportunities at their booths, Stake said.

"The Business Expo is a free event and a great opportunity for the community to see what businesses are offering locally," she said. "I was at last year's event and it was packed with people."

Stake said representatives from businesses interested in registering for a table should call her at the Reynoldsburg Area Chamber of Commerce at 614-866-4753 or email her at admin@reynoldsburgchamber.com.

She said the Business Expo event benefits both businesses and area residents.

"It is a great time of networking," she said. "Different business representatives get to meet and talk to each other. It is also a great opportunity for the businesses to get their names out into the community."

Sponsors for the event include Central Ohio Technical College, Uno Chicago Grill, Wesley Ridge, Rightway Heating and Cooling, Wagner Insurance Co. and Sturgiss Janitorial.
