Havener hired as Reynoldsburg's acting economic development director

Reynoldsburg Mayor Brad McCloud has hired Dan Havener as the city’s acting economic development director.

Havener succeeds Lucas Haire, who left as development director in 2011 to take a similar job in Canal Winchester.

The position has been vacant in Reynoldsburg since Haire left.

Sandra Boller, assistant to Mayor Brad McCloud, confirmed that Havener was recently hired as acting development director and has begun his duties with the city.

She said when a city position has the prefix “acting” then under the city charter, the mayor did not need city council approval to hire Havener.

She said he was hired at an annual salary of $70,000.

Councilman Chris Long said the decision to hire or not hire an economic development director “has always been up to city administration.”
