Church, city plan Halloween events

Ghouls, goblins and creatures of the night will haunt Reynoldsburg in two different venues next week.

Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Road, has planned a Halloween Trunk-or-Treat from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the church.

Organizer Dustin Ichida said the fun event for kids benefits a local food pantry.

Attendees are asked to bring canned goods to donate to the H.E.A.R.T. Food Pantry and warm winter coats to stock the Shepherd's Place, a free store that helps those in need.

Ichida said vehicles will be parked in the upper lot at the church and children may play games and "trick-or-treat" at decorated trunks. He said all ages are invited to the event.

"We want to give families a safe and fun place to spend time with their families for Halloween, while also doing something positive in our community," Ichida said.

The city's Beggars Night will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31, throughout Reynoldsburg.
