The race was neck and neck for two Reynoldsburg school board candidates and two Truro Township trustees on Election Day Nov. 5, requiring a recount of all votes this week by the Franklin County Board of Elections.
Public Information Officer Ben Piscitelli said the recount for Truro Township trustee incumbents Dennis Nicodemus and Barb Strussion begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Strussion received 1,641 votes, or 31.29, percent, while Nicodemus received 1,632 votes, or 31.12 percent according to certified results from the board of elections.
A recount of votes for Reynoldsburg Board of Education incumbents Ryan Brzezinski and Andrew Swope begins 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.
Brzezinski received 2,633 votes, or 24.63 percent, and Swope, the current board president, received 2,647 votes or 24.76 percent, according to certified results.
Piscitelli said the recounts are required under Ohio law because the vote totals were separated by less than one half of 1 percent of the certified vote total.
He said voting machine results will be reviewed at the board of elections warehouse at 1719 Alum Creek Drive. Paper ballots will be recounted at the board’s main office, 280 E. Broad St., Columbus.
