Saturday February 8, 2014 9:46 PM

Slate Ridge Elementary School will host a food drive, Hearts for HEART, Monday, Feb. 10 through Feb. 14, to benefit the HEART Food Pantry.

The school's 22 classrooms will compete against one another to collect the most food, with the winning classroom receiving a pizza party.

Previously, Rosehill Elementary School, also in Reynoldsburg, sponsored a food drive, collecting 320 cans in January, which benefited the HEART Food Pantry and the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

A ministry of the Reynoldsburg Ministerial Association, the HEART Food Pantry receives most of its donations from participating churches, fundraisers and individual contributors.

To receive food, participants must live in the following geographic boundaries: Havens Corners Road to the north, Licking County line to the east, Hamilton Road to the west and Route 70 to the south.

For information or to donate, call Messiah Lutheran Church at 614-866-4386 or visit Donations also are accepted at the HEART Food Pantry, 240 Outerbelt St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Saturdays.
