The Reynoldsburg Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Community and Business Expo at Reynoldsburg High School's Encore Academy this year.
The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Performing Arts Center at the Reynoldsburg Encore Academy, 8579 Summit Road.
Mary Hudson, executive director of the Reynoldsburg Visitors and Community Activities Bureau, said a larger venue was needed this year.
"We were running out of room so we decided to partner with the schools and have the Expo at the Summit Road campus," she said. "The performing arts center is beautiful and huge.
"We will have lots of space for more business booths and can also promote the event through the schools' Facebook pages," she said.
Last year's Expo, which drew more than 35 businesses, was held at Central Ohio Technical College on East Broad Street in Reynoldsburg.
"We don't want this event to be just a business-owner event," Hudson said. "We want more people and families to attend so that they will learn about the business offerings in the Reynoldsburg area and become patrons of our local businesses.
"We would love to get more people at this event," she said.
Hudson said the new Primrose School of Reynoldsburg, a private preschool, will be setting up an area for young children.
"Parents will be able to drop off their young children at the play area while staff members from Primrose watch them and play games," she said. "That way, the parents can walk around and browse the business booths without worrying about their children."
Business owners will be able to demonstrate their products and promote what they offer to other business owners and families at the Expo, she said.
"We would like area business owners to meet each other and we think people would like to know about our local business offerings," she said.
She said there are still some vendor spots available; promotional vendors will have their company logo on all advertisements.
Vendor setup is scheduled from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 1 with a vendor social event planned from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Promotional sponsors of the event, who are only Reynoldsburg Area Chamber of Commerce members, pay $200 for spots with stage visibility, an eight-foot table, extra space for advertisements, one chair and two tickets to the vendor social.
General vendors pay $100 if they are members of the chamber while non-chamber members pay $150. For general vendors, the fee includes an eight-foot table, one chair and two tickets to the vendor social.
