A number of roads will be closed and there will be other restrictions in place for Reynoldsburg's July 3 fireworks display and the July 4 parade and Mount Carmel 5K run.
Joe Brown, director of the city's parks and recreation department, said the entrance to Civic Park, 1600 Daugherty Drive, will close to all vehicle traffic at 9:30 p.m. July 3, "so get there early."
Food vendors and inflatable games will open at 6:30 p.m. July 3 at Civic Park, with the fireworks display scheduled to start at 9:45 p.m.
According to a Reynoldsburg Police Department press release, vehicle traffic will be held in the park for 15 minutes following the end of the fireworks display, until pedestrian traffic subsides.
"Once vehicle traffic is released from the parking areas, motorists headed to Lancaster Avenue will only enter Lancaster at Daugherty," the release said. "The side streets running north off Daugherty will be closed to vehicle traffic."
The Firecracker 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. July 4 at the Senior Center parking lot, 1520 Davidson Drive.
The July 4 parade begins at 10 a.m. at Rosehill Road and East Main Street.
According to Reynoldsburg police, the following street closures will be instituted July 4:
• At 8:15 a.m., Rosehill Road will be closed between East Main Street and Retton Road; Haft Drive will be closed between East Main Street and Foxchase; and the East Main Street eastbound curb lane will be closed between Rosehill Road and Haft Drive.
• At 9:15 a.m., East Main Street will be closed between Crest Road and Lancaster Avenue.
• All roads will be open at the conclusion of the parade, but temporary parking restrictions will be enforced in the residential areas in and around the Huber subdivision.
People participating in the Firecracker 5K event will not be permitted to park where the race begins, in the David- son Avenue parking lot at the senior center.
They will be required to park in the Spangler Field area of Huber Park, which can be accessed at 7138 E. Livingston Ave., according to the press release.
