Reynoldsburg police officers and Truro Township firefighters will face off in a "Guns and Hoses" event July 4, following the city's other Independence Day events.
Firefighter Joey Starling said the city's police and fire departments are bringing back their annual Guns and Hoses softball game this year.
The game begins at 1 p.m. Friday, July 4, at the Spangler Field area of Huber Park, which may be accessed at 7138 E. Livingston Ave.
Starling said the event is free. Food such as hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase, with the money donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The Firecracker 5K, sponsored by Mount Carmel Hospital, begins at 8:30 a.m. July 4 at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center parking lot, 1520 Davidson Drive. Participants are permitted to park only at Spangler Field, not at the Senior Center.
The annual Independence Day parade begins at 10 a.m. at Rosehill Road and East Main Street.
According to Reynoldsburg police, Rosehill Road between East Main Street and Retton Road will be closed at 8:15 a.m. for the parade, as will Haft Drive between East Main and Foxchase and the East Main Street eastbound curb lane between Rosehill Road and Haft Drive.
At 9:15 a.m., East Main Street will be closed between Crest Road and Lancaster Avenue.
