Regular Farmers Market Thursdays are coming to an end this month, but vendors asked for a bonus market day in September to accommodate the late harvest.
Kristin Hampton-Harmon, director of the Reynoldsburg Farmers Market, said the last two regular market days are from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 28 at Huber Park, 1520 Davidson Drive.
The bonus day will be Thursday, Sept. 18, also from 3 to 6 p.m.
"Because of the cold, rainy spring, the growing season is lasting longer and vendors still have plenty of things to sell," Hampton-Harmon said.
During market hours on Aug. 21, representatives from the HEART Food Pantry will man the Community Booth and collect food donations.
"They saw that we had a successful donation day for Reynoldsburg Helping Hands recently and asked if they could man the booth and accept donations," Hampton-Harmon said. "We hope people will bring canned goods and other nonperishables as donations to HEART."
A performer is also scheduled for that Thursday --Mike Dudley, guitarist with The Trains, a "rock and soul" band.
Hampton-Harmon said food trucks will be on-site Aug. 21 and 28.
The food truck for Aug. 21 will be Mangia Dolce.
"All of our regular vendors have committed to manning booths at the last two Thursday markets and the September market," she said. "We will have more than a dozen vendors available for the last three market days."
She said a group of National Honor Society students helped at the market this past summer, counting visitors.
"We averaged more than 800 people each week," she said. "We have been very pleased with the turnout and the community participation."
