The HEART Food Pantry will offer two free produce markets in September and one in November before Thanksgiving.
Margaret Messick, coordinator of operations at the pantry, said the markets are sponsored by HEART, in cooperation with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and congregations of Messiah Lutheran Church and Church of the Redeemer United Methodist (UMC).
The produce markets are scheduled from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1200 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg; and from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Church of the Redeemer UMC, 235 McNaughten Road, Columbus.
The pantry also will offer a free pre-Thanksgiving produce market from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Messick said the HEART Food Pantry covers the greater Reynoldsburg area and is supported by the Reynoldsburg Ministerial Association and other community partners.
She said those who seek help at the markets are not required to produce identification or proof of residence.
The HEART food pantry normally covers an area bounded by Hamilton Road, Interstate 70, Havens Corners Road and Taylor Road.
The food pantry is a partner of Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Clients are served at other times of the year by appointment by calling or texting 614-600-6065.
