Trevonn Brown, Marcellus Calhoun, Jacob Matuska and Ja’Wuan Woodley of the Hartley High School football team signed Feb. 6 to play college football.
Woodley, a running back and linebacker, signed with the University of Toledo. He rushed for 1,902 yards and 26 touchdowns last fall and was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year in Division IV and the ThisWeek Super 25 captain. He also was named one of the state’s Defensive Players of the Year as a junior and one of the state’s Offensive Players of the Year as a senior.
Matuska, a tight end and defensive lineman, signed with Notre Dame. He had 16 catches for 348 yards and four touchdowns last fall and also made the Super 25.
Calhoun is a running back who signed with Marist, which competes in the Football Championship Subdivision. He rushed for 1,683 yards and 26 touchdowns and made first-team all-district and Super 25 honorable mention last fall.
Brown signed with Division II Urbana University as a defensive back. He was a three-year starter and a captain last season along with Calhoun and Woodley.
