Reynoldsburg High School senior Darnell Ellis shot 66 to earn medalist honors during the third round of the OCC-Ohio Division boys golf tournament Aug. 28 at Granville Golf Course.
His score set a Raiders program record for 18 holes, according to coach Chip Warren.
Ellis leads the OCC-Ohio in stroke average heading into the final round Sept. 11 at Apple Valley. He carded 73 in the first round of the league tournament Aug. 7 at Darby Creek and 70 in the second round Aug. 12 at Turnberry.
Ellis became the first Reynoldsburg golfer to advance to the state tournament since what is believed to be 1990 when he qualified a year ago.
