On May 22, Maryland defenders Max Schmidt (a 2007 Upper Arlington graduate) and Grant Oliver (a 2008 UA graduate) helped the Terrapins upset top-seeded Syracuse 6-5. Maryland will face fifth-seeded and defending national champions Duke in a Division I national semifinal at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. The game is preceded by the other national semifinal, which features sixth-seeded Denver against seventh-seeded Virginia. Denver defender, Steve Simonetti, is a 2007 Dublin Jerome graduate.

Both games will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.

In Division III, Roanoke College midfielder and 2010 Upper Arlington graduate Spencer Parsons helped the Maroons reach a national semifinal where they lost to top-seeded Salisbury 17-4 on May 22.
