The Bexley High School football team needed a late rally Friday, Sept. 9, to beat host Hamilton Township 26-21 and improve to 3-0.
Jalen Robinette hit Alec Robins from 16 yards with 11.9 seconds remaining as the Lions scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to close non-league play.
Robinette had 242 yards rushing on 19 attempts and completed 10 of 15 passes for 108 yards for the Lions, who will open MSL-Ohio Division play Friday, Sept. 16, at Granville. His 9-yard run with 3 minutes, 56 seconds left in the game brought the Lions within 21-20.
Robinette also opened the game with a 68-yard scoring run.
In the second quarter, Rangers quarterback Zach Thompson ran 7 yards to tie the game at 7 and then hit Caleb Morris with a 16-yard pass to give the Hamilton Township a 14-7 lead at the half.
The Lions' D.J. Jones tied the game in the third quarter on a 10-yard run before the Rangers regained the lead on an 8-yard run by Lorenzio Bridges, who finished with 139 yards rushing on 22 carries.
