Dublin Coffman 66, Central Crossing 3
Shamrocks have no problem with Comets in OCC opener
After three fairly tight games to begin the season, the Dublin Coffman High School football team rolled to a 66-3 victory over Central Crossing on Friday, Sept. 16, to open OCC-Central Division play.
The Shamrocks, ranked No. 2 in the ThisWeek Super 7 poll, improved to 4-0 and the Comets fell to 0-4.
Central Crossing took the lead in the first quarter as Mac Bostard kicked a 20-yard field goal. After Grant Coffman tied the game with a 25-yard field goal, the visiting Shamrocks scored five touchdowns to lead 38-3 at the half.
Daniel Chang scored the first touchdown on a 6-yard run. He also added a 5-yard scoring run in the third quarter that pushed the lead to 45-3.
Mark Kendrick had touchdown runs of 15 and 25 yards, and Marcus Davis had punt returns of 55 and 60 yards for touchdowns.
Quarterback James Walsh hit Spencer Richardson for a 25-yard touchdown pass and added a 15-yard scoring run.
Tyler Lisovich completed the scoring with a 15-yard run.
