The Dublin Scioto High School football team handed Westerville North its 31st consecutive loss, defeating the visiting Warriors 40-0 on Friday, Sept. 30.
Junior quarterback Evan DeMars was 12 of 17 passing for 190 yards and four touchdowns for the Irish, who improved to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the OCC-Cardinal Division.
The Warriors dropped to 0-6 and 0-3.
DeMars’ touchdowns covered 2 and 20 yards to Mason Matheny and 11 and 60 yards to Anthony Davis.
William Houston rushed 22 times for 57 yards with a 1-yard touchdown, and Darius McDonald had a 25-yard scoring run.
Davis’ first touchdown, the 11-yarder, made it 28-0 and came after the Irish recovered an onside kick by senior Ryan Duncan at the North 44-yard line.
Scioto’s offense was forced to punt only three times and gained 400 yards, including 210 rushing. Cody Steffy led the way with 64 yards on three carries.
“We did some things offensively really well, but I think that we could have played better,” Scioto coach Karl Johnson said. “Our defense did a good job keeping the other team out of the end zone.”
Senior quarterback B.J. Campfield led the Warriors with 76 yards rushing on 19 attempts. Senior running back Kory Watson carried six times for 27 yards.
“In the first half we just got manhandled up front,” North coach Mike Owens said.
Both teams did not commit a turnover.
