A long rushing touchdown and a strong defensive effort during the middle two quarters helped the North All-Stars snap a two-game losing streak against the South by winning 21-16 in the 67th Ohio North-South All-Star Classic on April 20 at Ohio Stadium.

The South led 7-0 after the first quarter, 7-6 at halftime and 10-6 after the third quarter, but Boardman's Devin Campbell scored on an 88-yard run for the North with 10 minutes, 14 seconds left to give his team a 13-10 lead. The North tacked on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary quarterback Kevin Besser to Lakewood St. Edward's Quincy Jones and the two-point conversion with 2:47 left to take a two-score lead.

The South closed the scoring with a touchdown with 1:13 remaining.

"I think the size difference in the line that we had made the whole difference," Campbell said. "We're all all-stars here, but our line did a big-time task."

Warren Ball, an Ohio State-signee who rushed for 29 touchdowns in DeSales' I-formation offense last fall, showed his versatility by making five catches for 46 yards. He was named the South's Offensive Most Valuable Player.

Bexley's Jalen Robinette scored the game's first touchdown for the South, hauling in a 10-yard pass from Lima Central Catholic quarterback Tyler O'Connor with 10:32 left in the opening quarter.

Kenton quarterback Maty Mauk, whose father, Mike, coached the South, was unable to play because of an injury.

Cincinnati Colerain's Andre Jones was named the South's Defensive MVP.

Aurora wide receiver Anthony Melchiori had 33 yards receiving and one touchdown for North and was named the Game MVP, while Ravenna's D.J. Jones had 18 rushes for 77 yards and was the North's Offensive MVP and Akron Hoban's Greg McMullen was the North's Defensive MVP.
