ThisWeek again providing in-depth coverage of central Ohio high school football

So long, summer. Hello, football!

The high school football season kicks off Friday, Aug. 24. For the sixth consecutive season ThisWeek Community News will be the place for in-depth coverage.

Friday Night Live at ThisWeekSPORTS.com is coming off one of its best years, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Local Media Association's nationwide contest. ThisWeek is not resting on its laurels.

Here is what to expect for 2012:

On Friday Nights

Beginning at kickoff, follow the action across central Ohio on Twitter or the Friday Night Live app. Reporters at area games will provide the latest scores that will be relayed on Twitter (@ThisWeekSports) and on the Friday Night Live Web app, which can be downloaded by going here on your smartphone’s browser.

After the games, visit Friday Night Live at ThisWeekSPORTS.com for game recaps and photos.

Radio

At 10 p.m. Friday, ThisWeek sports editor Lee Cochran joins WTVN’s Matt McCoy for the hour long High School Football Scoreboard show. Cochran and McCoy will provide scores and highlights of area games, including post-game interviews with coaches.

Friday Night Live doesn’t rest between Friday nights. Each weekday, Friday Night Live at ThisWeekSPORTS.com is updated with a new feature.

Partnerships

In addition to ThisWeek's continued partnership with WTVN, Friday Night Live will collaborate with JJHuddle.com. JJHuddle.com's managing editor Eric Frantz will not only go against ThisWeek’s staff in the game predictions, but the two sites also will share relatable content. ThisWeekSPORTS.com will feature content from Steve Blackledge and Mark Znidar of the Columbus Dispatch and video from 10TV.
