Watterson at Ironton

Under former coach Bob Lutz, Ironton was known for its run-oriented offense that featured two tight ends and a full-house backfield. Although first-year coach Mark Vass hasn't abandoned those principles, Tanner Dutey connected with Aaron Stephens for three touchdown passes in a 44-31 loss to Johnson Central on Sept. 28.

Watterson is 5-1 all-time against Ironton.

Watterson trailed the Hawks 28-0 before Andy Elberson scored on a 7-yard run and deAndre Golden added a 1-yard touchdown run. The Eagles failed to recover an onside kick after their second touchdown and Hartley ran out the clock.

Watterson had 265 total yards but allowed 363. Elberson was 6-for-9 passing for 63 yards and rushed for 76 yards. Walter Green had 74 yards on 16 carries.
