Thomas Worthington at Hilliard Davidson
Davidson is on a roll, having won its last four games to move into playoff contention in Division I, Region 3. During the winning streak, the Wildcats are averaging 36.8 points and allowing an average of 10.3 points. They have allowed more than 17 points only once this season, in a 33-10 loss to Coffman on Sept. 14.
E.J. Jennings has rushed for 1,141 yards on 195 carries and is among the area scoring leaders with 18 touchdowns.
Thomas is averaging 16.1 points and allowing an average of 36.1. The Cardinals scored seven points or fewer in each of their first four games but have scored 14 or more in their past four contests.
Tony Harvard has rushed for 1,121 yards on 180 carries.
*LAST WEEK -- Thomas didn't have its first lead against Central Crossing until Harvard scored on a 54-yard pass from Danny Gordon early in the fourth quarter to put the Cardinals ahead 28-21.
Harvard rushed for 224 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown, on 35 carries for his third consecutive game with 200 or more yards rushing. Gordon was 8-for-13 passing for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
With 20 seconds left, the Cardinals were trying to run out the clock but fumbled and Central Crossing's Troy Clark returned the ball 82 yards for a touchdown. The Comets' pass failed on the ensuing two-point conversion attempt, but they recovered an onside kick and quarterback Luke Duncan completed a pass to Clark, who was tackled at the Thomas 6-yard line as time expired.
Jennings rushed for 258 yards and four touchdowns on 46 carries to lead Davidson in its win against Liberty on Oct. 11. The Wildcats' defense limited Liberty to 42 yards rushing and 174 total yards.
