Pickerington Central could join Pickerington North in the Region 2 playoffs if it beats Gahanna on Friday, Nov. 1, and gets help.
The Tigers are 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the OCC-Ohio entering what likely will be their final home game this season. The Lions are 3-6 and 3-3.
"Gahanna's pretty stout on defense," coach Jay Sharrett said. "This is our senior night and they know it'll probably be the last time for (the seniors) on our field. I don't think we'll have a problem getting emotionally up for the game. We're right on the edge (of making the playoffs). We could be solidly in if we win.
"We've got to make sure we play their underneath passes well."
Senior quarterback Colby Simkins hasn't played the last two weeks after injuring an ankle during a 32-29 win over Grove City on Oct. 11. His status is uncertain for the Gahanna game.
Junior R.J. Williams and sophomore Seth Currens have seen action in his place.
Central has defeated Gahanna in the last nine meetings. The Lions' last win in the series came Sept. 28, 2001 (38-17).
