Although Eric Frantz, managing editor of JJHuddle.com, had the title clinched heading into the final week, there still was plenty of interest.
Who would finish second? Who would finish last?
Frantz went 11-4 in the final week to finish at 113-37 (75.3 percent), three games ahead of runner-up Dave Purpura, who went 12-3 to close at 110-40 (73.3 percent).
How close was the battle for second? Three others – Aaron Blankenship (11-4 last week), Frank DiRenna (12-3) and Patrick Dolan (11-4) all finished at 109-41 (72.7 percent). (Of note: Blankenship was the only panelist to correct predict at least 10 games each week.)
One game behind them at 108-42 (72.0 percent) were John Hulkenberg (11-4) and last year’s champion, Andy Resnik (12-3), followed by Scott Hennen (107-43 overall, 71.3 percent, 9-6 last week), Brad Emerine (104-46, 69.3, 12-3) and Don Delco (102-48, 68.0, 12-3).
And the battle for last? Jarrod Ulrey went 11-4 to edge Lee Cochran 10-5 as both finished 96-54 (64.0 percent).
