Super 12 captain voting ends

The votes have been tallied, as fans voiced their opinion on who they think should be the captain of the Super 12 boys and girls basketball teams for the 2013-14 season.

In the boys' poll, there were 6,316 votes cast and Hartley's Chris Moxley finished first at 50.93 percent followed by Upper Arlington's Kevin Vannatta (42.65 percent), Gahanna's Javon Bess (5.72) and Pickerington Central's Jae'Sean Tate (0.7 percent).

In the girls' poll Newark Catholic's Jill Blacksten finished first at 51.3 percent followed by Reynoldsburg's Alyssa Rice (42.34 percent), Johnstown's Natalie Carpenter (3.56) and Africentric's Alexa Hart (2.81)

In addition to the fan’s selection, each member of the 12-person full-time sports staff at ThisWeek will cast one vote for the boys captain and one vote for the girls captain. Meanwhile, the player who finished first in each fan poll will be constituted as one vote, bringing the total number of ballots cats on each captain to 13.

The teams will be announced Thursday, March 20, online at ThisWeekSPORTS.com and in the 24 editions of ThisWeek Community Newspapers.

Thank you for your particpation.
